A covenant is a word in 2025 mostly attributed to marriage but because of the many marriages that fail, it often ends up being simply a word. This is not how God sees the word. For Him, a covenant will never and can never be broken. When He speaks – it is done. It is imperative that we, His chosen people, see things from His viewpoint. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, we read that His word is truth, and we are guided by the Spirit of truth. He has made an everlasting covenant with us. When we truly understand this and act on this glorious fact, healing will flow far more freely.
In Isaiah 42 verses 6 and 7 and in chapter 49 verse 6 we see very clearly the triune nature of this covenant. It is in the person of His Son, Jesus and it includes healing, deliverance and salvation. These are promised but there are some key conditions that must be adhered to if we are to reap the benefits. In many places we read the essential response for us is to listen and obey. Four times in the first 14 verses in the well-known chapter on blessings and curses in Deuteronomy 28, we read; if you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all His commands… then all these blessings will be yours. A second condition can be found in Hebrews 11:6. There the writer says that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God but equally we can the read the antitheses that in Mark 9:23 all things are possible for one who believes.
Jesus began His ministry by fulfilling everything that was prophesied about Him. Matthew 4 verses 23, 24 show that He healed every type of ailment and set the oppressed free. The apostles did the same as is written in Acts chapter 5. In verses 15 and 16 we read that people brought out the sick onto the streets so that Peter’s shadow might fall on some. Luke reports that ALL were healed. What we must realise is that Jesus has so many ways in which He heals. It is very easy and tempting to stick to one of these ways such as laying on of hands and not use one of the many other ways. Let’s take a look at many of these ways because Jesus may well be encouraging you or others to seek Him more deeply in a different way.
Jesus is the Word of God so we can expect Him to move as we read His word. I know someone who had been suffering from a chronic condition. This man received healing as he read and meditated on the word. I was preaching recently and a lady had been unable to lift her arms above 90 degrees. Whilst I was declaring scripture, healing flowed and she testified to having all restrictions lifted. Jesus healed the Roman official’s servant by simply speaking the word. I remember praying through Zoom for a lady in Cyprus who had a very painful right foot. She was unable to place her foot flat to the floor. We declared healing and immediately all pain and restriction left.
I have seen countless numbers of people who are healed through worshipping the King. Some amazing examples were found when I was in Pakistan during October 2024. There were countless healings taking place and during lots of meetings there were many testifying to restrictions disappearing as they worshipped. We saw 10 people arriving paralysed and walking out totally healed. Most were set free during worship. It was utterly glorious. I have witnessed many in England being healed this way. It makes complete sense because when we are abandoned to Jesus we are far more open as our eyes are on Him as opposed to on ourselves.
There are large numbers of people healed as a result of words of knowledge. Recently I called out that people were being healed of issues to do with hands and carpal tunnel. That day in a small church comprising less than 50 people, three folk were set free as the hands could then fully move. One of these was a long standing issue with carpal tunnel and another a man with hand paralysis. The more specific we can be the more the faith of the recipient is and will be. I walked into a school one Friday morning and felt extreme pain in my right calf. As soon as I realised it wasn’t to do with me, I heard the words ‘blood clots and family history’. A lady teacher then announced that she was having exactly that pain but even more interestingly that both of her parents died as a result of experiencing blood clots. I prayed and her faith was then extremely high. She took part in a competition the following day, all the pain, discomfort and anxiety had gone. That was 6 years ago and she is totally free. Simply declaring what Jesus is doing will heal people as expectation is felt.
